Here I put my selected news practice work and course work during the college

I originally came to journalism school for journalism practice, and during my early years in college I became passionate about interviewing and writing, while exploring the possibilities of nonfiction writing. Therefore, I participated in the new media team of a campus media. In the later days of my sophomore year, I started to be curious about communication studies and found that academia was a way to help me understand the confusion in the world and society. I took courses broadly and enjoyed interdisciplinary knowledge in history, sociology, philosophy, journalism, communication and computing.

Spring News Reports

Spring News is a student newspaper sponsored by the School of Journalism and Communication of the China Youth University of Political Studies since 2000. It is the most influential student media of the CYU. Most of the members of Spring News are first, second and third grade students in the Department of Journalism, and are good at in-depth reporting. In 2013, it was rated as a 5-star member media by the China University Media Alliance. On January 23, 2014, the WeChat public account “Spring News” was created. This campus media was retained when the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established in 2017. During my freshman and sophomore years, I spent a lot of time and efforts on the journalism practice of campus reporting.

I got an internship at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in the spring of 2022, mainly supporting the new media content and affiliated public relations content of its Beijing office.

I had a very valuable internship in data journalism at The Paper. The Paper is a leading digital media outlet in China and being frontier in the field of data journalism. The data news team of The Paper is meishuke/839studio.

Luohan Academy

Luohan Academy is a research institute founded by Alibaba Group in Hangzhou, China, in 2019. The academy is dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of the social sciences and artificial intelligence to help solve some of the world’s most pressing economic and social challenges.

Project Nous

Founded in 2016, Project Nous is a public welfare education program voluntarily organized by a group of Chinese college students from all over the country and abroad. It aims to bring small-class discussions and liberal arts education experience to high school students in non-first-tier cities and counties.

In 2022 summer, I brought a 10-day course “oral history and journalistic nostalgia” to the Mianyang camp. The course aims to observe the resurgence of oral tradition and its culture. Also, it focuses on the individual’s narratives, marginalized groups and community memory. In addition to that, we discuss its impact on today’s journalism practice.
